Aigilas Dev Weekly 20
Xbox 360 controllers were hard coded to add controller support to Aigilas. This allows anyone with that controller to immediately jump into the game without any configuration. I do not want that controller to be required to play, but I do need a device to be officially supported.
To the end of supporting other devices, I re-wrote the way controller input is processed by the game. There is now a generic system that can be configured through the Options screen to detect any attached controller.
On top of that, keyboard controls can also be configured in the Options menu. Should the controls ever wind up in a broken state, they can be reset with a couple of clicks from the Options menu.
Check out these changes and more in the latest stable edition release, v0.6.5. At this rate of development, the beta release will be coming in March.
